How many of the FEHB plans offered to annuitants offer this benefit?

if you don't know what that is, I call it an IRA for Health Costs, but it's even better. It's an IRA where you get a tax deduction when you add money to it, but unlike an IRA, when you take the money out, you don't have to pay any tax at all on that withdrawal.

Of course there are conditions. The money you take out is only tax free if you use it for medical costs. If you take it out before age 65 for anything else, you have a punitive penalty of 20% of your withdrawal, plus the regular income tax due, since you didn't take it out for medical costs.

I've had one for the past 12 (or so) years and I've accumulated quite a reserve fund, with my contributions, plus the money that the insurance kicks in. Also, this money can be invested in some mutual funds, so it might grow pretty quickly.

But today, as I check the OPM site during Open Season, I don't see any attractive plans that include an HSA. Am I missing something?

Yes, there are still these HDHP/HSA plans: (there are probably more)

GEHA HDHP with HSA
Aetna HDHP healthfund with HSA (In my opinion, this one has become too expensive and benefits decreased in recent years)
MailHandlers HDHP with HSA (Consumer Option)
United Health Care has a HDHP plan with HSA in some areas

I had the Aetna HDHP Plan for years, but a year ago, I switched to GEHA HDHP.
