Alright let’s do this. Too lazy to update my timeline but I’ve been in adjudication since July. Hopefully I get a late Christmas present this month.
Good luck to everyone - we’re all here for info but also for mutual support and encouragement.

Aug 2021 - CJO Sept 2021 - eqip and eqip revision Sept 2021 - credit check Nov 2021 - psych & poly (passed) Nov 2021 - security review
I have not been contacted by a background investigator and none of my references have either so I've still got that to go I guess.

Happy New Year and I'm hoping we all get good news this year!
I'll post my timeline at a later date but I have two questions (hoping someone has the answer):
1.) I had quite a lot of overseas travel (safe countries) in the last couple of years, will that prolong my processing and how are they able to verify/check all my travel history?
2.) I haven't heard from my background investigator in a couple of months, has anyone been cleared or received a FJO without getting a notice from your BI that your investigation has been completed?

Just waiting now.... I applied about a year before you, had my poly around the same time as you and have been working now for a few months. It's worth the wait! Hang in there!

😅 I'd consider myself lucky if I get an investigator to contact me this year I was right! No contact in 2021. I reached out to my recruiter back in October with my new job and location but no reply either.

Timeline to-date: Applied - 03.19 First phone contact stating interest in interview - 10.19 Schedule interview - 11.19 Interview 12.19 CJO - 01.20 Submitted eqip - 01.20 In-person meeting with investigator - 02.20 Final contact with any of the investigators working on my case - 03.20 Hiring freeze - 04.20 Request to schedule in person suitability tests - 08.20 Poly (passed on 2nd try the day after) and psych eval - 08.20 Extra documentation from psychiatrist delivered - 12.20
Annnnd that's it so far. I checked back in 07.21 with my recruiter and he told me he saw a note they wanted to schedule another psych since they're only good for a year according to him. I still didn't hear anything so I emailed again 10.21 and received back an email that the email is disconnected and to send my emails to a different one. Well I emailed them and they never responded. So somehow I yet again got changed to a new recruiter (maybe?) and they never even contacted me about it. As if I didn't feel in the dark enough...

I got the email last week to schedule my psych/poly for February.
It feels like things are speeding up. I got a buddy who had to do a BI as a contractor and he did his interview early last week too. Hopefully things speed up for everyone else too :)

My timeline: Nov 2020: did phone interview with sector chief and was told I'd be receiving a CJO Jan 2021: received unofficial CJO email and accepted it Feb 2021: received official CJO and eQIP link email Feb 2021: submitted SF86 through eQIP March 2021: got contacted by security about something on my credit that needed to be taken care of April 2021: provided proof that ding on my credit was being rectified July 2021: did psych eval and security interview Oct 2021: background investigation wrapped up and submitted Now I'm in the waiting game for security to wrap up my processing and submit the paperwork to HR so I can get my FJO and EOD. With COVID and the fact that the DC/MD area is having an actual winter, what's already a slow process got slowed down even more. Hopefully they'll streamline the process for applicants who are transitioning from contractor to civilian like myself, well really for all applicants.

Does anyone know how long your application remains on the stage "In-Review"? It has been like that for two of my application for almost 3 months now.

I am a current dept of defense employee that just got a tentative offer for NSA. My question for anyone who has done this transition: does NSA call your supervisor/HR BEFORE they extend a final job offer? Or do they notify your supervisor after you accept your final job offer? I accepted the tentative offer months ago, and the HR rep warned me that the process takes a while. I didn’t tell my current supervisor that I applied, and I’m only going to accept the final offer if they give me a promotion. My thought process is to tell my supervisor if I accept (obviously) but just wondering if I should tell him now just incase NSA HR calls him to notify him that a final offer will be extended.

I won’t go through my whole timeline since it started in 2020; however, I’ll give the synopsis: 11/21: accepted CJO 01/22: passed poly/psych 02/22: confirmed my psychiatrist returned forms to DOD psychology dept.
So I’ve been trying to get ahold of my recruiter since 12/21. I’ve left her two voicemails without a response. I’ve never been given her email or any other way to contact her. I also have no idea if my background investigation has started and/or if I’ve been assigned a background investigator. Does anyone know if I’ll be contacted before someone reaches out to my current employer? I just want the opportunity to discuss all of this with them so they’re not blindsided when someone from DOD contacts them. Any advice/info is much appreciated!

I'll guess probably not - but I was in school while starting the process. That being said, I don't know when they contacted my internship supervisor since I interviewed for this initially while doing that. Then COVID messed everything up and now I'm on CJO #2. Anyways, the investigator doesn't usually speak with you until a subject interview and/or if they have questions for you. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I wouldn't expect them to contact you beforehand. Edited by user Thursday, March 3, 2022 8:48:13 AM(UTC)

My background investigator reached out to me to review the security forms before contacting all of the references and also gave me a heads up to tell them so they wouldn’t think he was a scam caller. I had my subject interview a few weeks after that where I again went over the forms and then did poly and psych. They should contact you when investigation starts based on my own experience, but YMMV. Edited by user Thursday, March 3, 2022 4:18:06 PM(UTC)

Here's my current timeline:
CJO accepted: 11/21 EQIP submitted: 12/21 Background Investigation started: 1/22 Background Investigation completed: 2/22 Poly/Psych completed: 2/22
I think I was likely submitted to adjudication just after completing the psych and poly, but is there some other aspect of the process I may be missing something? If not, does anyone have any insight into how long NSA adjudication typically takes? I'm hoping the FJO will come in by the end of March/early April.

This timeline is very similar to mine, do you mind sharing for what position?

Non-STEM admin/business/legal role (don't want to get more specific than that since I understand it's a pretty small office).
