I was a GS employee working under Fort Carson, CO MWR (Morale, Welfare & Recreation) marketing. MWR uses mostly NAF funds. I was asked to 'request' use of potential public funds to pay for marketing costs of for profit MWR entities and apparently personal items. Many of the requests came to me already pre-authorized from my manager at MWR.
I have supporting documents as well as a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request of investigation results around this issue. The FOIA is somewhat incorrect. I know this since I was a participant in said investigation. Furthermore, I am in possession of such documents that were provided, yet left out of FOIA investigation results. The base will not let me see the redactions.
What was up with this? I've spoke with several D.C. federal attorneys, but no one wants to touch this issue.
I can certainly share the FOIA and any other information as requested; however, cannot share documents within this forum.
