I have heard through the Federal grapevine that there is a move afoot to get rid of FECA and have all current claimants be absorbed into the States system of where they live. As such there with be no grandfathering and whatever the rules are in that particular State will apply.

If I had a dollar for every time a rumor/proposal along this line was put out there, I could have retired ten years sooner than I did.
I am not saying you should not be vigilant, but don't lie awake nights worrying about this one. Even if something gets introduced into Congress and referred to a Congressional committee, that means very little. Over 90% of all proposed bills in Congress die in committee. That has been the fate of previous proposals along these lines. |
