The Department of Homeland Security has a vital mission: to secure the nation from the many threats we face. This requires the dedication of more than 230,000 employees in jobs that range from aviation and border security to emergency response, from cybersecurity analyst to chemical facility inspector. [Their] duties are wide-ranging, but [their] goal is clear: keeping America safe. (source: www.dhs.gov)

Mine was conducted in a parking lot...

Take what you want from that

Lol, mine was on a basketball court. We also ran the 1.5 mile on the court as well…. The Secret Service is truly an interesting agency I should say

Mine was done on pavement in a parking lot. Their "cones" were taped Xs on the asphalt. If you can beat the time, surface type shouldn't matter too much. I trained on a field myself. Definitely practice the pattern a lot, after you're done with your test runs, just walk the pattern. A few people at my APAT messed up on the pattern and only got 1 score instead of the better of the 2.

For the push-ups during the APAT, were you able to rest in the up position at all, or was resting not allowed? Have my APAT coming up, overthinking the details. Thanks.

Resting is allowed.
You can not move your feet/hands, the rest pose is the "pike" position. Basically your stick your butt in the air in a kinda triangle shape. I utilized this pose once during the pushup session on my APAT. Definitely helped get some extra pushups in as opposed to going until point of failure.
Struggle onwards.

Well lads & lasses, end of the line for me.

As it stands, here's the final scorecard this time around:

USSS UD
6/22 Apply
7/22 UDEE Passed
8/22 APAT Passed
8/22 SUPER Passed
9/22 SEC. Interview Passed
10/22 Poly #1
10/22 Poly #2
10/22 Shown the door

Proud of myself for making it this far. Take pride in your accomplishments, and keep your chins up.

I'll see what I can do in the future, and look at some other agencies as well. Hope my advice has been helpful to those who have asked for it, and thanks to everyone who answered my own questions.

This was my second attempt, and I made it way further than I did on my first. If you don't make it, try again! As long as you make it further than you did in your prior attempt: that's a win in my book.

See you in the future.
Struggle onwards.

Hi, this is my first time posting in this forum. I just got approved to take my SAEE, does anyone have a general idea how long I have to study before my exam, or is it more of a person by person basis?

Unfortunately I did not pass my SAEE, does anyone know the retake window for that or what I do next?
