The Department of Homeland Security has a vital mission: to secure the nation from the many threats we face. This requires the dedication of more than 230,000 employees in jobs that range from aviation and border security to emergency response, from cybersecurity analyst to chemical facility inspector. [Their] duties are wide-ranging, but [their] goal is clear: keeping America safe. (source: www.dhs.gov)

You have to so your training within one year of EOD. Yes, you will stay on an old Navy base. Food and housing provided. No family allowed. You may negotiate to stay outside base for personal valid and convincing reasons and may or may not be granted. There is an instructor named Sentz there tell him your prior employee JJ said hi

Hello, there's only 3 classes in Charleston for FY 22 and the last one is August 9-September 15 which you won't be able to attend. Most likely you will have BASIC at your home office depending on when they have FY23 schedule out. You will stay at a base in Charleston, food and stay is provided for 6 weeks (Spouses not paid for but can visit.)
