A friend of mine left the post office last August and wants to return ASAP. He's had several obstacles along the way with many people telling him he'll have to return as a CCA. He is to meet with the union president tomorrow whom I THINK knows the rules on returning within one year (re: that it can be done while getting full pay reinstated). Just in case he doesn't, can someone here please tell me the rules on this or provide a link? He wants to go into tomorrow's meeting armed with the right information. I tried doing a topic search on this and got "lost in the weeds." Thanks in advance! -Lee

This was discussed a few years ago. The theme seems to be "Yes, you can come back. But, it's not mandatory for USPS to do so". https://forum.federalsou...s&t=71109#post784076This indicates more of an issue. Read down to see the "three-year" rule. https://www.opm.gov/poli...formation/reinstatement/ |
